SUMMARY:Ivy Lea Campground
DESCRIPTION:This is a great dive location for several reasons. The vis can be better than other shore dive areas\, there is lots of depth along the wall if desired and the wall in interesting to see. There are two dive locations. The 1st and most popular is to enter beside the beach area. There is no current in this cove to speak of so it makes for a great entry area. The 2nd entry area is at the south-west end of the park. Divers can then drift to the beach area. The map below shows the drift start and end and shows the location of a small wreck at 80 ft. Note that in 2023 the park attendants were not allowing people to do the second dive plan.\n \nBoth areas are indicated on the satellite image at the top of this page. \nAttached is the Ivy Lea Campground map: 2023-Ivy-Lea \nYou can unload your gear near the diver area but then must move your car to the “P” parking area. Getting there early will improve your chances of getting a spot \nCost: there is a fee of about $20 per diver. Each diver needs to complete a form at the Visitor Centre and pay the fee when arriving.\n\n\n\nIvy Lea Campground website.

SUMMARY:Lock 23
DESCRIPTION:This is a very large dive site with lots to see. The current can be strong so only divers comfortable with current should participate. Here is a detailed guide about the lock: https://morrisburgdivesites.com/2020/06/15/exit-plan-getting-to-the-beach/ \nThis map shows the public dock and the beach where we come out of the water.  Sometimes we pre-position cars at the exit point\, but some folks prefer to just walk back to the entry location.

SUMMARY:Morrison's Quarry
DESCRIPTION:This popular site has many attractions including a plane and other items of interest. The water is typically very cold though at any depth so a two layer wetsuit is required with a hood and gloves. \nA good reference site is: https://www.neptune-scuba.info/ca/qc/carriere-morrison-en.html \nThe fee is $20 for entry (cash) to be paid to the quarry owners and a valid FQAS card is required. An FQAS card can be acquired at local dive shops but may require a course to acquire depending on the shop. In fall 2021\, Scuba Finatics ( https://scubafinatics.ca/) seemed to be the best source for these cards. Plan well in advance if you need a new or updated FQAS card. \nThe following image indicates the artifacts to dive.

SUMMARY:Eastcliffe Hall 2-tank dive
DESCRIPTION:The Eastcliffe Hall is a 343 ft. long freighter very close to the Chrysler Park Marina\, just east of Morrisburg.  This wreck has lots to see but has a significant current outside of the hull.  Once you are inside the hull it is a relaxing dive.  Not many charter companies go to this location so this is the first time FSAC will see this wreck in quite a while. We will use a zodiac to get to the wreck. \n\nCharter owner: Mike Fowler\nLoad time (TBC): 9am\, Departure time: 9:30am\nCost: $90 paid in cash to the captain. ($50 for one dive)\nMax 8 divers\, min 4 divers.\nSurface interval will be done on shore.\n\nParking: Parking is in Chrysler Park Marina. \nRef: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastcliffe_Hall

SUMMARY:Islander Wreck and Bonnie Castle Resort dive site (2 -tank shore dive)
DESCRIPTION:These dive sites are in Alexandria Bay\, NY\, which is easily accessible and very touristic.  The Islander wreck starts shallow and is in low current so is suitable for Basic or Advanced divers. \nJust east of the wreck location is a scuba park\, similar in a sense to the Centeen\, Prescott Scuba park concepts.  There are two suspended training platforms around 30 ft\, with the bottom under them at 60-70 ft.  It is accessible from the Bonnie Castle Resort. The cost is $20 USD as of 2023. There’s lots of parking and some benches similar to Centeen to gear up. \nWe will dive on the Islander in the morning\, have lunch in town\, then dive in the Bonnie Castle Resort dive site after lunch. \nI recommend we have lunch at “Riley’s by the River” (http://rileysbytheriver.com/). \nDon’t forget to bring your passport and cash for the toll bridge! \nRefs: \nhttps://www.divebuddy.com/divesite/1/islander-alex-bay-ny/ \nhttps://www.discoverupstateny.com/packages/4188/wreck-of-islander/

SUMMARY:Lock 25
DESCRIPTION:This is a shallow\, almost no current dive. We simply travel around an old lock. There can be some pike or carp or other interesting fish depending on the time of year. It is recommended to use a dive float as their can be some boat traffic. You will also want to have a light. \nThe image below shows the parking area in blue or you can park along the side of the road. The red line shows the general dive plan. There are six orange buoys which are tied down by chain\, which can be seen underwater.
